Upload attachments to your forms

By: FormFactory on Apr 9, 2008

People send and receive emails with attachments. People attach business plans to web-based loan applications. Why should FormFactory forms be any different? We definitely don’t think so either. So, as of this morning, FormFactory developers have the power to upload and attach documents to salesforce records.

This brand new functionality is enabled through an Attachments button (available under the Buttons category). It takes a salesforce ID as input (via mashup). The attachment, when completed, is attached to this salesforce record. When clicked, the button opens a "Browse file" dialog box to let you select a file from your computer to upload. Additionally, the "Browse file" dialog box provides the ability to provide a file title. This will override the label that is displayed in the Notes and Attachments section of the salesforce record. All attachments go into the Attachments entity in case you are looking to list them out for your users.

Please note that this is the first phase of our attachments support and includes only the ability to CREATE attachments. The Read, Update and Delete operations are expected shortly. Please give us some feedback (support@dreamfactory.com / 866-399-DREAM) about how you are using or intend to use this feature so we can improve usability and add more popular functionality.
