Installation Information

OrgView Custom Link

OrgView can be installed with just a Custom Link, no Custom Objects or Custom Tabs are required. You can add the OrgView link to the Account, Contact, and/or User page layouts. When you "Get It Now" from the AppExchange, three Custom Links are added to your account: OrgView Account Chart, OrgView Contact Chart, and OrgView User Chart. Simply add these links to the appropriate page layouts in your Org. Alternatively, you can just use the link information documented below, and create the links yourself.

Here is an example URL for the Account Custom Link:

The only trick is that the linkid paramater should be set equal to {!Account_ID} for an Account page layout, or {!Contact_ID} for a Contact page layout, or {!User_ID} for a User page layout.

Requirements

OrgView uses the DreamFactory Runtime rich client for XML and Web Services. This small, free download runs in any web browser and dramatically enhances user experience and product functionality. OrgView also requires a Professional or Enterprise Edition account from salesforce.com.

Security

OrgView uses your personal computer to communicate directly with your salesforce.com account. All transactions take place directly between OrgView and salesforce.com and are conducted using the Secure Sockets Layer protocol. No data is ever transmitted to us or to any other database. We never store your username or password. Our servers are only used for the initial download of the runtime control. The Security White Paper has additional information about DreamFactory Runtime security.
