Installation Information and System Requirements
Web Meeting Mashup uses the DreamFactory Runtime rich client for XML and Web Services available from DreamFactory Software, Inc. This is a free control that is easy to install and runs on any Windows or Macintosh web browser. DreamFactory Runtime is a 400K one-time download, and your DreamTeam projects (the Project Manager, Collaborative Calendar, and Document Manager) are also about 400K.
The DreamFactory rich client gives you much better performance, a much deeper user experience, advanced graphical visualization, service aggregation at the desktop, the option for secure access to client assets, and other capabilities not available in native browser software.
Security is also enhanced, because DreamFactory uses your personal computer to communicate directly with your salesforce.com account. All transactions are conducted using the Secure Sockets Layer protocol. No data is ever transmitted to us or to any other database. Our servers are only used for the initial download of the runtime control.
Most users do not need to do anything to use this technology: the first time you visit one of the Web Meeting Mashup tabs above, simply accept the certificate, and everything will be installed. DreamFactory can be uninstalled almost as easily. Some users with less popular web browsers may need to run one of our web based installation programs.
