CAMPBELL, Calif., March 11, 2015: DreamFactory Software, creator of the leading open source backend for enterprise mobile and web application developers, has appointed Jan Liband as chief marketing officer. Liband brings more than two decades of experience in enterprise application development and database software, and will play a key role in enabling the company to stake out its position in the rapidly expanding enterprise mobility sector. Liband will oversee all facets of the company’s brand and marketing activities worldwide.

“Mobile and web have changed everything, and DreamFactory is positioned to play a key role in enabling next-generation applications,” said Bill Appleton, president of DreamFactory Software. “Jan has the ideal combination of relevant domain experience and a proven track record of driving growth in both VC-backed startups and more established, publicly held enterprises. He joins DreamFactory at the perfect time: after our recent round of funding and as we ramp up efforts to accelerate adoption and introduce enterprise mobile and web developers to the most efficient way to mobilize enterprise assets.”

Liband has more than 20 years of application development marketing experience. Prior to DreamFactory, he was chief marketing officer at BD Guidance, a strategic management-consulting firm. He brings a deep understanding of all facets of modern marketing and a track record for driving revenue growth and nurturing enterprise development communities. He is a noted thought leader in the application development tools industry, and has additional experience in data management technologies, SaaS/Cloud, enterprise collaboration, mobile and embedded device software.

“I’m very excited about DreamFactory’s prospects,” said Jan Liband. “The firm has built a new kind of services-oriented platform: one that provides enterprise mobile and web application developers with the fastest and most flexible way to connect their applications with backend data sources using the increasingly popular RESTful services API.”
